Faculty
Woodhouse Academy is committed to providing a seamlessly integrated educational/therapeutic process that addresses the social and academic needs of its students. Our dedicated staff is focused on helping the students develop the thinking skills, effective strategies and self-understanding they will need for academic success, lifelong learning and self-advocacy.
Director
Bob Lepper is the Director of Woodhouse Academy.
He has over 25 years experience working with adolescents challenged by social and learning needs. Prior to founding Woodhouse Academy, he was a teacher, administrator and Education Director/Principal of a nationally known residential education program.
Bob has worked extensively with highly experienced clinicians (psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and social workers). His work includes collaboration with parents regarding school and home issues.
Educators
As a Connecticut Department of Education approved special education program, all of our educators are Special Education qualified. In addition, they specialize in specific core content areas (Language Arts, Math, Science, History).
Woodhouse Academy educators are committed to developing their professional skills and expertise. They are actively involved with ongoing professional development and training.
Clinical Staff
Woodhouse Academy faculty includes highly experienced clinicians: a school psychologist and a psychiatrist. The education and therapeutic process is enhanced through the integrated work of our special educators, the clinical expertise of our psychologist and the psycho-educational consultation by our highly experienced psychiatrist. Our psychologist leads the social skills development process, consults with parents and integrates her work with the educator team. Our psychiatrist does not do individual care. He is directly involved in the Woodhouse community and is available for consultation
